CURRENT ISSUE - When Adding a Youtube Url, The Image Is Downloaded but No Video is Saved
On the 15th of Decemeber 2020, Youtube made a change to their website. Now all requests for video information must be done on a secure connection (https). When Ignite Gallery tries to make a request to get the video info, the request is denied, here are the solutions:
Solution 1, upgrade to version 4.4.1. An updated version has been added to the downloads page. 4.4.1 was added on the 16th of December. You can install version 4.4.1 on top of an older version of Ignite Gallery. (Version 4.5 will be released in January with new features)
Solution 2, manually edit the gallery php file. To manually fix this issue, please go to your webhosting filemanager and locate the file administrator/components/com_igallery/helpers/file.php Around line 171 do code edit shown below. This edit will work in version 4.3 and version 4.4. Version 4.2 and below do not have this issue.
Solution 3, you can upload an image to the gallery, then copy and paste the embed code from Youtube, please see this page for info on how to do this.
