From May 2012, Ignite Gallery updates will be delivered by RSS. If you don’t already use RSS, it can sound confusing at first, but after a couple of minutes of setting up, it is easy to understand and use.
Subscribing to updates by email can be problamatic, as legitimate mass emails often get marked as spam. Also unsubscribing can be difficult, as the sender is the one who controls your subscription, and their unsubscribe system may be broken or complicated.
With RSS, there is no spam, and You control what you are subscribed to, not the person with your email address.
You need a RSS reader to get Ignite gallery updates. If you have a gmail account already, please go to www.google.com/reader. Yahoo users can go to http://my.yahoo.com/s/about/rss/index.html and msn users can go to rss.msn.com/help.aspx. You can also get a free rss online reader from sites like bloglines.
The below example is for a gmail account, but the process is similar for any rss reader:
Once you are logged into google reader, go to the Ignite gallery site, and click on the rss icon on the left side of the page
. Your browser may give you the option to subscribe to the feed as shown here:

If you do not have the option, just copy the url in the browser, and paste it into the add feed icon in your reader:
It is also a good idea to subscribe to:
There are also many other Joomla extensions and news sources that do announcements by rss.
Now you can bookmark the rss reader page, and check back on a regular basis. If there is an Ignite gallery update, or a Joomla update, or an update from any other news source, it will appear in your reader. If you want to unsubscribe, you can do this within your reader:
